Skin Cancer is the most common type of cancer in North America but fortunately it is the most treatable type of cancer too when detected early. Massage therapists observe large areas of skin on a fairly regular basis and are in a unique position to help bring awareness to their clients' by reminding them to have a yearly skin assessment by their physicians, and to alert them to any suspicious areas or changes in their skin. There are many internet resources that provide extra education beyond what is taught in our massage curriculum.
